Cookie Policy

Last updated 15 October 2026

Which cookies and browser storage DroneClean uses, what each one is for and how long it stays. In short: only what the site needs, plus analytics if you allow them.

1. What this page covers

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Sites can also keep items in the browser's own storage (local storage). The law treats both the same way: what a site needs to work can be stored without asking, everything else only with your consent. This page lists everything DroneClean stores, and is part of our Privacy Policy, which says who we are and what your rights are.

We use no advertising cookies, no social media buttons that track you and no cookies that follow you to other sites.

2. Essential: always on

These make the site work, or remember a choice you made. They need no consent.

NameWhat it doesHow long
better-auth.session_token (cookie, with the __Secure- prefix on our site)Keeps you signed in. Set by our server only when you sign in.60 days, renewed while you use DroneClean; deleted when you sign out
better-auth.state (cookie)While you sign in with Google, ties Google's answer to your browser. At most 5 minutes
droneclean.consent (local storage)Your answer to the cookie notice, and when you gave it.12 months, then we ask again
droneclean.theme (local storage)Your appearance: light, dark or the system's.Until you clear your browser's data
droneclean.signedIn (local storage)Whether this browser was signed in last time, so the page header keeps its place while it loads.Until you clear your browser's data
droneclean.loupe-used (local storage)That you have used the editor's magnifier, so its hint stops showing.Until you clear your browser's data

After the free beta, when you open the checkout to buy credits, Stripe sets the cookies its payment form needs to work and to prevent fraud (such as __stripe_mid, one year, and __stripe_sid, 30 minutes). They are set only then, under Stripe's cookie policy.

3. Analytics: only if you allow them

If you choose “Allow analytics” in the cookie notice, we count which pages and steps of DroneClean are used, to improve it, with PostHog (PostHog Inc., data stored in the European Union). Nothing of PostHog loads before you answer, and nothing loads if you choose “Only essential”.

NameWhat it doesHow long
Items starting with ph_ (local storage, and session storage for the current tab)A random id of this browser and the current visit, so the pages and steps of a visit are counted together. Never linked to your account, your name or your email.Until you choose “Only essential” or clear your browser's data; the session items go when the tab closes
Items starting with __ph_opt_in_out_ (local storage)Only if you allowed analytics and later chose “Only essential”: a mark that analytics are off, so PostHog sends nothing. It holds no id.Until you allow analytics again or clear your browser's data
droneclean.analytics.counted (local storage)The purchases this browser has already counted, so a reload does not count one twice. Never sent anywhere.Until you choose “Only essential” or clear your browser's data

Your browser sends these counts through our own server, which passes them on to PostHog without our cookies. What is counted, and for how long it is kept (up to 12 months), is in the Privacy Policy.

4. Other things you may notice

  • Error reports. When something breaks, the page may send a technical report to Sentry (data stored in the European Union) so we can fix it. It stores nothing in your browser and carries no account identity, cookies or video.
  • Your profile picture is loaded from Google's servers, which then see your browser's address, as with any picture on the web.
  • Creator link pages count how often they are opened on our server, as a plain number per day, without any cookie.

5. Changing your choice

You can change your answer at any time with “Cookie settings”, at the bottom of every page and in the editor's header (the shield button), or here: . Choosing “Only essential” stops the analytics at once and deletes their id from this browser.

Leaving the notice unanswered, or scrolling past it, is not consent: nothing is counted until you choose. We do not ask again for 12 months, unless we start using something new that needs your consent. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser's settings; the site then asks again.
